The macOS downloads are free at the moment

Maius for macOS and Maius Agent Home are currently supplied free of charge. No amount is charged for them, and the terms below that describe a price, a paid order or a payment apply only to products that are actually charged for — which today means the weekly hosted subscriptions.

A payment card is collected and stored, and is not charged. Stripe stores it against the customer so that, if these downloads later become paid, the customer can continue with one confirmation instead of entering card details again. CogsMe will not charge a stored card without first asking the customer to agree to the price. A customer may remove a stored card at any time by contacting support, and removing it does not affect a licence already issued.

These terms apply to purchases of Maius software from CogsMe Pty Ltd trading as Maius-Ai. Prices shown on the website are in Australian dollars and include GST.

What Maius is

Maius is a macOS application that runs AI agents on the customer’s own computer. The customer supplies and controls the compatible Apple Silicon Mac, the internet connection, their Claude subscription or Anthropic API key, any other third-party accounts they choose to use, and all associated credentials and usage charges. The launch product includes the macOS application and the supporting guides described at checkout. Native iPhone and Apple Watch applications are not included in the initial launch unless expressly stated in the order.

How agents behave

Inside its own workspace folder, a Maius agent runs commands, reads and writes files, and accesses the network without prompting for confirmation of each individual action. Actions that reach outside that folder are presented to the customer for approval and are refused if left unanswered. The customer is responsible for the instructions they give an agent and for the consequences of those instructions, and should treat agent access as equivalent to granting an assistant access to that computer.

Licence

Each paid order grants the purchaser a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the purchased Maius release for the purchaser’s own personal or internal business use. The purchaser must not resell, sublicense, publish, reverse engineer except where law permits, or distribute Maius or its licence key. Open-source components remain governed by their own licences.

Customer responsibilities

The customer must follow the setup guide, maintain backups, secure credentials and private access URLs, pay third-party provider charges, and ensure their use of AI and of any personal information is lawful. Availability of third-party services, including the customer’s model provider, is outside CogsMe’s control.

Delivery and download

After Stripe confirms payment, Maius issues a licence and a private download link. The link normally remains valid for seven days and permits a single download. Customers must not share it. If a link is used or lost, contact support and a replacement will be issued. Contact support if a paid order is not delivered.

Hosted subscriptions

Some Maius products are sold as a weekly subscription and run on a machine CogsMe operates, reached through a web browser. No Mac is required. The customer still supplies their own Claude subscription or Anthropic API key; model usage is billed to the customer by Anthropic and is not resold by CogsMe.

Subscriptions are billed weekly in advance through Stripe and may be cancelled at any time. Access continues until the end of the week already paid for, and does not renew after that.

What is kept between sessions depends on the plan and is stated on the plan itself. The hosted machine is stopped when it has been idle and is rebuilt when the customer returns. On plans that do not include saved storage, nothing is carried between sessions. On plans that do, the customer's workspace is saved before the machine stops and restored when it starts. Customers should keep their own copies of anything they cannot afford to lose.

Signing in to Claude on a hosted machine

Signing in to Claude on a hosted machine replaces any long-lived Claude Code token the customer has created elsewhere. Anthropic issues one long-lived token per Claude subscription. Signing in to the hosted machine creates one, and doing so invalidates the previous one immediately and without notice. A customer who uses such a token elsewhere — for example in a build pipeline or a GitHub Action — will find that use stops working, and the reverse is also true: creating a token elsewhere ends the hosted machine's access and the customer will be asked to sign in again. Nothing warns either side that this has happened.

Signing in to Claude Code normally on a personal computer uses a different credential and is not affected. Customers who depend on a long-lived token for automation should use an Anthropic API key with the hosted product instead, and should note that API usage is billed by Anthropic per use rather than covered by a Claude subscription.

CogsMe may suspend a hosted subscription for non-payment, and may stop or restart a machine for maintenance or to protect the service.

Consumer guarantees

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law. Where permitted, liability for a failure of a service may be limited to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.

Privacy and payments

Stripe processes card payments. Maius does not store complete card details. Personal information is handled as described in the Privacy Page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, subject to any mandatory consumer law that applies in the customer’s location.
